Superintendent

The Superintendent position is critical to the success of Burger Construction. The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and supervising projects from start to finish.  He ensures that the quality of work and materials is upheld and that the budget is followed as planned. He is responsible for the total supervision of all operations on the site. He ensures that the workers are implementing what is on the design plan. He monitors the workers and the progress of the project and reports to the client as well as to his project manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicating with clients, subcontractors and project managers on all aspects of the project.
  • Ensuring that project plans are implemented
  • Being on site to oversee the construction process
  • Commuting to multiple job sites
  • Organizing workers and ensuring they are performing as required
  • General inspection of the workers and their performance and safety
  • Holding safety meetings
  • Ensuring the stipulated safety rules and regulations are met
  • Liaises with city inspectors on the standard requirements of the site in terms of licenses and safety
  • Follows the project construction process to ensure it is completed on time
  • Supervises the subcontractors and ensures they are punctual and that they deliver
  • Ensures that quality is preserved in the construction process and that the budget is maintained
  • Documenting project progress
