On Monday, October 17, Burger Construction, with the help of Pizza Nova, orchestrated the delivery of over 30 pizzas to the Voices for Children offices to help feed 65 of the organization’s Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer workers. According to its website, “Voices for Children transforms the lives of abused children by providing them with volunteer CASAs… [to] review and monitor every court file in the system… and advocate to improve the lives of foster children. In addition, Voices for Children increases awareness about the foster care system, and advocates for legal policies and practices that enhance the quality of life for foster children.”
“These young children are some of the most vulnerable in our community and we wanted to show a small token of gratitude to those who work tirelessly to ensure that each child in foster care has someone to look out for their best interest,” Jack Burger said, as he and his wife, Susie delivered the pizzas. “We’re expecting our first grandchild this November, so young children have been on our mind a lot lately. We know that pizza can’t solve these children’s problems, but we hope that we were able to convey how grateful we are to these selfless volunteers.”
